. Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment and assisting the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold in the department and recommend products.
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special advertisements.
- Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
- Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
- Model excellent customer service by demonstrating friendliness and maintaining a clean and orderly department.
- Demonstrate creative merchandising and keep displays fully stocked and conditioned according to department standards.
- Be aware of arrival dates of products and maintain workload to guarantee production deadlines are met.
- Receive and utilize all bulletins, announcements and special programs to assist with creating additional sales.
- Complete all paperwork according to company policy.
- Ensure merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense, supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, associate and customer engagement rules are followed.
- Promote sales through intercom announcements.
- Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate manager of any items needing repair.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report all safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
- Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.
