The incumbent must be able to have a flexible schedule throughout the months of August-November.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior harvest cellar experience and forklift experience is preferred,
but not mandatory - Experience with cellar procedures and understanding work orders
is preferred, but not mandatory - A basic knowledge and understanding of the winemaking process
- Works well in a team setting as well as autonomously at times
- A strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks in a timely
manner - Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work long hours at peak times (up to 12 hours a day and 6
days a week) - Dependability to show up to work every day and complete the tasks
assigned - Ability to work in cold and rainy weather
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing Machine picked fruit and making additions
- Managing fruit intake, including receiving, stacking, destemming and pressing
- Rackings, barrel downs, and barrel consolidations
- Cleaning and sanitation of winery and all winery equipment
- Punch downs and pumpovers
- Operation of crush equipment, pumps, elevator, and press
- Forklift driving including bin unloading and dumping, barrel stacking, etc.
- Drain and Pressing finished wines
- Safely enter confined spaces to perform digouts, and clean presses and tanks
- These daily tasks will be performed around a core of cleaning duties, preceded
and followed by more cleaning; wash, rinse, repeat.
