Senior Infection Preventionist at Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, OR.
Full-Time/Day Shift
The Infection Prevention Expert is expected to work autonomously and to mentor other infection preventionists. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementing and ensuring compliance with the policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, IPs follow current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations.
IPs provide infection prevention consultative services focused on delivering high-quality care at the lowest cost to the patient and organization.

Responsibilities- Provide infection prevention consultative services focused on high-quality, cost-efficient patient care.
- Implement and ensure compliance with infection prevention policies, practices, and processes at the facility, region, division and system levels.
- Collaborate with IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers to follow all current guidelines, standards and regulations.
- Mentor and support other infection preventionists; operate as an autonomous subject-matter expert.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- National Certification in Infection Control (Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology) upon hire
- 5 years of healthcare experience
- 5 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
- Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) or Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP) within 2 years of hire
- 10+ years of healthcare experience
- 10+ years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
