George Fox University Marketing Communications department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated team player to fill the role of Temporary Video Content Specialist.
Want to share stories that matter and create work that will be seen by a large audience? As the Temporary Video Content Specialist at George Fox University, you'll have the opportunity to do just that.
We're looking for a multi-tool player who can create compelling video, social media, photo and written content that showcases the quality programs and amazing people in our community. Video, which is the primary role of this position, is heavily promoted on our website and via our robust social media following, providing an established platform to showcase your skills.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Meeting regularly with the associate director of video production to determine content priorities.
- Working closely with the video producer, university photographer, and university editor on a variety of projects in a collaborative environment.
- Providing compelling video clips for use on social media and assisting with feature projects.
- When assigned a feature video, coordinating all phases of production, from concept to finished product. This may include planning, scripting, interviewing, lighting, capturing audio, editing, creating motion graphics, producing and directing.
- Creating compelling motion graphics for videos you produce.
- Writing short captions, headlines and copy for social media.
- Contributing engaging photos for social media and assisting the university photographer with studio photo shoots and other projects.
- Communicating with the web team to better understand digital content needs and suggest creative solutions.
- Contributing a constant flow of innovative ideas for how to better connect with our audience across all digital platforms.
- Staying on top of industry trends as well as the latest software and video/photo equipment.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in video production, photography, graphic design, journalism, communications, marketing or a related degree.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with video equipment and editing software.
- A high-level understanding of social media strategy.
- Demonstrated experience engaging an audience with effective storytelling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. This position does not offer visa sponsorship; therefore, only applicants who do not require sponsorship for employment visas, now or at any point in the future, should apply.

- Basic knowledge of photography equipment and editing software.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design software.
- Experience writing copy for social media or web use.
- Hours Per Week: 30 hours per week
- May be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
