The Journeyman performs skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while interpreting blueprints, operating trade tools, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting and repair on production equipment (i.e., electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, etc.).
- Perform new construction and repairs as needed (i.e., carpentry, electrical, pipe fitting, plumbing, etc.).
- Perform layout and design work as required.
- Identify equipment and parts by name and number.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and blueprints as required.
- Operate required tools and equipment (i.e., welder, hand tools, drill press, oxy‑acetylene welding and cutting, etc.).
- Operate material handling equipment (i.e., carts, lifting devices, forklift, etc.).
- Stay current on trade practices.
- Accept emergency repair call as needed.
- Process and maintain records as needed.
- Perform work of an equal or lower classification as needed.
- Keep supervisor informed of material, process and equipment needs and problems.
- Insure part and tools are counted and properly marked in their appropriate storage area.
- Notify appropriate personnel of the need to order parts and equipment.
- Perform work in a safe and orderly manner.
- Keep equipment, and work area clean and orderly.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Physical demands:
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
