Overview
Advance Auto Parts seeks an Entry‑Level Salesperson or Store Driver to support our DIY business, deliver parts, and provide exceptional customer service. Positions may be full‑time or part‑time and require fleet safety certification.
Responsibilities – Salesperson- Provide an outstanding selling experience for DIY customer visits, phone calls, and in‑store interactions.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its sales targets.
- Offer DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installation.
- Maintain product and operational standards in the store.
- Manage inventory processes: truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, back‑stock, and other tasks.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, fronts, dusting, parking lot.
- Assist with general stocking: truck stocking and back‑stock.
- Deliver parts safely to customers when needed.
- Basic driving and navigation.
- Proficiency in the delivery board system.
- Friendly and effective communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Strong safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- POS and parts lookup system proficiency.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills – Salesperson
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
- Safely deliver parts to commercial customers as needed.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
- Daily collection of credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, fronts, dusting, parking lot.
- Assist with general stocking: truck stocking and back‑stock.
- Basic driving and navigation.
- Proficiency in the delivery board system.
- Friendly and effective communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Strong safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems (back‑stock) and store equipment.
Job Skills – Store Driver
- Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Automotive parts experience preferred.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.
- Valid driver's license and fleet safety certification required.
Employees will predominantly be walking or standing. Lifting up to 50 lb frequently and up to 100 lb occasionally is required. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentWork is generally performed indoors; occasionally outdoors with exposure to weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock risk, vibration, and moderate noise level.
Compensation Range13.15 USD PER HOUR – 13.98 USD PER HOUR
