Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a hands-on, detail‑driven Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, lead financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls. This onsite role in Newark, OH offers high visibility within the organization and the opportunity to modernize processes, mentor staff, and support key financial initiatives. • Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Supervise, develop, and mentor accounting staff
• Oversee AP/AR processes, fixed assets, accruals, and general ledger accuracy
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance across accounting operations
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, HR, and Finance
• Support annual audit activities, preparing schedules and documentation
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA a plus)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior leadership/supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fully onsite, fast-paced environment
