ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload trucks to cater to aircraft.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Communicate with the flight crew and maintain good relations with the customer.
- Work in a safe manner to prevent accidents to self and coworkers.
- Cater to the airlines professionally.
- Ensure flights are catered correctly and on time.
- Comply with all HACCP/GMP and sanitation policies and procedures for proper food handling.
- Comply with Ramp Safety policies and procedures; safety vests must be worn while out on the field.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of experience in a Warehouse/Airline catering environment.
- 1 year CDL driving experience with a CDL A or B license with air brake endorsement required.
- The ability to meet requirements to obtain a PANYNJ Port (per TSA regulations, 49 CFR ).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Schedule flexibility is a must.
- Ability to lift and push heavy objects and racks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work safely to prevent accidents.
While performing essential functions, the employee is expected to multi-task under time limits with attention to detail and accuracy. The position requires consistent attendance and punctuality. Follows instructions, responds to management direction, and completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards and strives to increase efficiency.
Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and may stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and security procedures must be observed; report unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
Work EnvironmentExposure to extreme cold/heat, heights, and loud noise; earplugs must be worn on the ramp.
