Maintenance Technician II; Irvine Turner

Position: Maintenance Technician II (New Irvine Turner)
Winn Companies is looking for a dependable Maintenance Technician II to join our team at New Irvine Turner, a 94-unit residential community and New Center City, a 44 unit residential community, both located in Newark, NJ.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots maintaining the property to satisfy ownership and management objectives.

The pay range for this role is $24.00 to $28.00 per hour dependent on experience. Please note that selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule:
Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM with an on call schedule of every other week.

Responsibilities:

Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting and basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance to company standards.
Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
Be available for on call activity during off hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements:

1-3 years of relevant work experience.
A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
Must have some plumbing skills, including being able to operate camera to look for leaks in walls.
General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, and/or carpentry.
Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.
Ability to speak and understand basic English.

Preferred Qualifications:

Vocational or technical training.
CAMT certification.
EPA, HVAC and CPO certification a plus.
