Primary Responsibilities And Duties- Operate a skid steer, large rough-terrain forklift and possibly a variety of other large heavy equipment while performing maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way including loading, hauling and dumping on smooth to extremely rough surfaces.
- Load gravel, dirt, and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread and dump rock and gravel.
- Check and maintain all fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
- Instruct and train employees in the safe operation of construction equipment, tools, job techniques, and skills.
- Inspect equipment or materials and identify any problems or causes of error.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
- Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies, and explain and take any corrective action needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
- May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.
- Able to meet all physical requirements.
- Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 50 ft).
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to travel and work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
You earn travel time to each project, $50/day meal assistance and then travel time to get home two weeks later. Your hotel room is paid for and in addition to your hourly rate, you are working consistent overtime. Our rate of pay is generally between $22 and $29/hour depending on your experience. $880/week - $22 x 40 hours
$330/week - $30 x 10 hours overtime
$110/week – based on 5 hours of travel time each week
$360/week - $60/day per diem (assuming 6 nights away from home)
Total: $87,360/year (this excludes any bonus, medical premium subsidies or retirement contributions you will earn from us)
