In many cases our clients desire a softer security plan that meets their values and needs, but where high‑value people and assets are involved others may prefer a more obvious security presence.

As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues that require an enhanced presence and personal protective services. You'll be trained by our team of highly qualified firearms instructors in safe weapons handling and marksmanship. As an Unarmed Security Officer, you are an integral part of the broad spectrum of specialized security services Inter‑Con provides its clients every day.

Specific

Benefits Include:
  • Competitive Pay
  • Recognition and Reward Programs.
  • Training and Career Development.
  • Opportunities for Medical, dental, Holidays, vacation and sick, and 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Uniform and equipment provided
  • Additional benefits vary depending on position.

Security personnel are to be certified and trained and will be assigned a variety of standing, sitting and walking posts.

Expected Responsibilities

From a security perspective, the terminal is segregated into security areas; access to which is via appropriate security measures for that area, such as valid passenger boarding pass, airport security badge check, access control swipe and/or security screening.

To identify suspicious behavior, detect vulnerabilities and deter persons from committing unlawful acts, the following areas shall be patrolled by the Bidder on a continuous basis:

  • the boundaries between landside and SIDA
  • the boundaries between landside and secured and Sterile area.
  • areas in which baggage or cargo and mail are handled before being loaded onto aircraft.
  • Public facing areas.
  • Back of House (BOH) areas

The Bidder shall ensure that patrols do not follow a predictable pattern; and different routes and/or timings are selected regularly, prioritizing high‑risk areas, such as the landside / airside boundary lines and the areas which are subject to crowding. Where a potential incident seems possible, remain in the location, continue passive oversight and attempt to alleviate without intervention if feasible.

Patrols shall inspect all security critical doors to ensure security card reader is intact and relevant door signage has not been tampered with; doors are closed, locked, and sealed (if applicable), door alarm is active, access control readers are intact (if applicable), and the emergency break glass is intact (if applicable).

All individuals employed in TA must always wear a valid airport badge clearly visible on their person. The Bidder shall approach any person not following these rules and request to see the badge. The access rights assigned on the airport badge dictate where and how staff move into and through zones on a business need basis; for example, shop staff in the concourse area do not have access to hold room doors out to the jet bridge or into the passenger boarding bridges.

The Bidder shall remind the badge holder to always keep the pass in clear view. The Bidder shall conduct periodic random spot checks of employee and authorized visitor passes to ensure adherence to the PANYNJ airport pass regulations.

Any unauthorized persons in the secured zones of the TA shall be reported to TA SOC, who shall contact PAPD for intervention.
