Research Teaching Specialist IV; Genomics

Overview

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV (Genomics) for the Office of Research within New Jersey Medical School.

The primary purpose of this RTS IV position is to perform high throughput DNA and RNA sequencing and support the operations of the MRF lab in the NJMS Genomics Center.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Perform various protocols, including but not limited to, RNA and DNA extraction (possibly working with potentially infectious agents and blood borne pathogens), sequencing and microarray protocols.
• Assist with day to day operations of the Genomics Center as necessary.
• Assist with laboratory data management.
• Assist with maintenance of instruments.
• Perform general laboratory maintenance and support.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards.

Regional Campus:
Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) – Newark, NJ.

• Perform high throughput DNA and RNA sequencing and related laboratory operations in the Genomics Center.
• Assist with day to day operations and maintenance of instruments.
• Assist with laboratory data management and general laboratory support.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and comply with safety protocols.

• Master’s degree in a relevant science.
• Or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science plus (1) year of related research experience.
