Position Summary:
Post Doctoral Research Associate position is available in the Laboratory for Next Generation Virtual and Augmented Reality Network Systems directed by Prof. Dr. Jakov, Cakareski, inthe College of Computing hnical aspects of the opening include aself-motivated engagement with the research team of Dr. Jakov, Cakareski oninvestigations of mutual interest, leadership in writing research papers and proposals, and engagement in light-weight student mentoring and teachingactivities.
It is expected that a recruited candidate will lead the submission of two journal and one to two conference papers, annually. Dr. Jakov, Cakareskiand his team will provide ample support and opportunities for creativeengagement.
Highly-motivated candidates with background in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, or applied mathematics, and research interestsat the broad intersection of networked virtual and augmented reality, opticaland millimeter wave mobile wireless networking, 360 video streaming, UAV-IoTsensing and networking, real-time machine learning, and societal applications are encouraged to apply. The opening is renewable everyyear, pending available funding and meeting performance requirements.
Essential Functions:
-To work on information science and computer graphics.
-The Post Doc will helpdesign and conduct research, analyze the collected data and prepare for apublication.
Prerequisite
Qualifications:
-Must have qualitative research skills and have a PhD in hand/or within 3 monthsof appointment.
Experience with human subject research.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisitesmay be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specificallypreparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated starting annual salary for this position is $62,232.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
