Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) position is to provide high quality patient care. The APN utilizes advanced practice nursing expertise to provide care to patients in the Emergency Department. Other responsibilities for the APN include, but are not limited to, participation in staff orientation, consultation and evaluation for patients, families and health care team members. Works collaboratively with Physicians, Nursing Director and Managers to identify patient care and staff development needs and quality improvement opportunities.
QualificationsCertified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Three (3) years of nursing experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care or Medical/Surgical required. One (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, Adult or Family preferred. Demonstrates effective leadership competencies to be carried out in the day-to-day activities of the department. BLS (CPR) and ACLS required.
Computer literacy required.
