PICU RN - Night Shift - 13 Weeks Location

Newark, NJ

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)

The PICU RN will provide critical care for pediatric patients, including those with congenital heart defects. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient load of 1:2+ and will float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed to meet staffing requirements.

• Care for pediatric patients with various congenital heart conditions including ASD, VSD, AV Canal, and more.
• Monitor and manage ventilator support, including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop nursing care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring for patients requiring cardiac observation.
• Provide support to families and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of PICU critical care experience.
• At least 1 year of documented cardiac nursing experience required.
• Active NJ or Compact nursing license is required at the time of submission.
• BLS & PALS certifications are required; NRP preferred.
• Competence in caring for patients with complex cardiac needs is mandatory.
