Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Float Pool – Full-Time, Day shift at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ. Pay $47.85–$64.04 per hour (based on educational background, skills, experience).
Job OverviewFirst established in 1901, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a 665-bed qua ternary care, teaching hospital that provides comprehensive health care for the region. Staffed with more than 800 physicians, 3200 employees, and 150 volunteers, the hospital is ready to provide you and your family with quality care. Our Children's Hospital of New Jersey (CHoNJ) serves pediatric patients exclusively, offering nearly 30 pediatric subspecialties including a full-service Children’s Heart Center, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Pediatric Emergency Department, and the only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in New Jersey with an ECMO unit.
Children’s Hospital also offers a Valerie Fund Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and a specialized pediatric anesthesia program.
- Graduate from an accredited NLN Nursing program
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability, ability to meet the needs of the unit
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
- BSN
- Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- NRP Certification within 90 days of hire
- PALS Certification within 90 days of hire
- Day Shift, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
- Full time 36 hours per week
- Monday–Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation
- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and upholds ethical standards of practice.
- The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and applies evidence‑based practice, maintaining personal knowledge and advancing knowledge of the patient care team through communication.
- The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- The Registered Nurse has knowledge of the patient population served.
- The Registered Nurse supervises and directs delegation of tasks to team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
- The Registered Nurse consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualizes the plan of care for each patient.
