Job Opportunity – Pediatric ICU RN – New Jersey

Start Date: February 9, 2026
Location: Newark, New Jersey

Schedule: 13-week assignment, every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday), 12-hour shifts

Highlights:

• Primary assignment in a 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with potential float to Pediatrics and NICU based on skillset
• Patient ratios typically 1:2 in PICU; step-down patients 1:3
• Opportunity to work with diverse pediatric critical care populations including cardiac cases, ventilator management, and complex medical conditions
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Experience with advanced equipment including Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP, vents, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Collaborative care environment serving infants, pediatrics, and adolescent patient populations

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required; 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred
• Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Documented competency in BiPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required
• Proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Willingness to float within skillset to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
