Position SummaryNew Jersey Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Executive Director of the Paul V. Profeta Foundation, Inc. Real Estate Technology, Design and Innovation Center (the "Profeta Real Estate Center"), which serves as the locus of teaching, training, research, and external engagement related to the disruptive technologies, innovations, and novel design and construction techniques that are actively transforming the real estate field.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a distinguished record of professional accomplishments across the real estate industry (development, leasing, marketing, mortgage financing, investment sales, and management), experience in developing and sustaining new businesses or programs, and significant leadership skills and intellectual curiosity, creativity, and strategic thinking. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions- Develop a multi-year strategic plan to position the Center as the leading university‑based real estate center in the country.
- Build an Executive Board of approximately 10–12 recognized leaders in real estate and adjacent sectors.
- Create an external membership of 80–100 influential real estate professionals to invest in the Center and support high‑profile networking events, colloquia, and public seminars.
- Plan, implement, coordinate, assess, and expand the Center’s annual activities and initiatives.
- Secure gifts, grants, and other funding to build and sustain the Center.
- Organize conferences and colloquia open to the industry and public featuring high‑profile speakers.
- Develop new certificate and non‑degree offerings.
- Work with NJIT academic leadership and faculty to identify existing courses and develop new courses that contribute to potential real‑estate degree programs.
- Build partnerships and secure external funding for industry‑relevant research projects conducted by NJIT faculty and students.
- Develop and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with real‑estate firms and other organizations to grow the Center’s visibility, impact, and resources.
- Create a robust, multi‑platform marketing plan for the Center.
- Manage the Center’s budget and work toward making it a self‑sufficient entity.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of real‑estate industry experience, preferably in a leadership role.
- Extensive understanding of real‑estate finance, development, investment, and technology; a record of accomplishment and leadership across the sector.
- Experience in buying and selling a minimum of 1,000,000 square feet of property during career.
- Experience developing business and/or strategic plans, managing complex budgets, assessing outcomes, and operating a new business successfully.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, creativity, strategic thinking, and significant leadership capability with hands‑on management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit industry leaders for membership, advisory board functions, guest lectures, and public seminars.
- At the university’s discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted if equivalent qualifications are demonstrated.
- Advanced degree.
- Prior experience leading a university‑based real‑estate program or center.
- Certified in real estate.

Salary InformationIn compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is $150,000 (USD). The range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other compensation.
