United Community Corporation (UCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a broad range of social, educational, recreational, and developmental programs designed to improve and stabilize the quality of life for individuals and families in Newark and Greater Essex County.

UCC delivers critical services including free groceries, case management and counseling for emergency shelter residents, housing and rental assistance, youth summer and after school programming, senior services focused on recreation and health and wellness education, job preparation and vocational training (including computer skills), advocacy, and a wide array of additional family support services.

UCC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Full-Time Facility Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our community facilities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring welcoming and healthy spaces for staff, program participants, and visitors.

• Clean and sanitize offices, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Empty trash and recycling and replace liners.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Perform light maintenance cleaning and report repair or safety issues to management.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols.
• Support occasional deep cleaning or special event setup/cleanup.

• Prior cleaning or custodial experience preferred (but not required).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Background check required.
