Munich Airport NJ LLC (MANJ), a US-based subsidiary of the renowned German Airport Operator Munich Airport, is responsible for the maintenance and concession management of Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
We are seeking a highly motivated Sprinkler Technician to join our team as soon as possible. The Sprinkler Technician will maintain fire protection systems and be the first investigator for all fire alarms as well as the primary point of contact for both internal and external customers and contractors. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the operations of one of the most advanced terminal developments in the United States.
Responsibilities- Perform monthly, quarterly, semi-annual & annual flow testing of fire protection systems and backflow preventors as per NFPA and perform onsite emergency troubleshooting and repairs of the Terminal A fire alarm and protection systems, identifying code and non-conformance issues:
- Conduct regular inspections and tests of the fire protection systems to ensure they function correctly and comply with NFPA standards. Perform emergency troubleshooting and repairs as needed, addressing any code violations or non-conformance issues.
- Act as a first investigator for fire alarms/fire protection systems within Terminal A and operate the fire protection and fire alarm systems and software when needed:
- Respond to any fire alarms or issues, assess the situation, determine the cause, and resolve the issue, including operating the fire protection system and FACP to ensure terminal safety.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities; work well with team members and terminal stakeholders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals:
- Understand and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, submittals, and product manuals, to maintain and troubleshoot the fire protection systems.
- Ensure that work orders for planned Fire Life Safety maintenance are in place and stakeholders are informed:
- Create and maintain schedules for planned maintenance activities, complete necessary work orders, and inform stakeholders of maintenance status and deficiencies.
- Monitor the CMMS system (Maximo) to ensure all engineering and maintenance work orders are completed on time:
- liOversee execution of maintenance work orders, review reports, and log information accurately into the CMMS system.
- Ensure events/incidents are logged, attended to, and resolved per SLAs using standard work order procedures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders when an event or issue requires their involvement.
- Ensure scheduled and unscheduled inspections and work occur as required.
- Oversee Fire Life Safety subcontractors in planned maintenance and reactive management, coordinating with management to address any issues.
- Track key performance indicators and service level agreements to ensure compliance with established standards and metrics.
- Provide daily or shift-based reports on maintenance activities, issues, and performance metrics.
- Monitor fire alarm software and BMS/SCADA status, issuing and managing corrective work orders as needed.
