• 7 to 10+ years of hands on experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies in enterprise and data center environments
• Strong expertise in firewall configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms
• Advanced experience with security policy creation, tuning, optimization, and rulebase management
• Solid understanding of routing, NAT, network segmentation, and high availability architectures
• Proven Tier 3 escalation experience supporting complex, mission critical environments
• Demonstrated experience leading data center firewall refreshes, migrations, and cutovers

• Strong troubleshooting skills across network and security layers
• Ability to adapt quickly to shifting project timelines, refresh schedules, and operational priorities

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior engineers, data center teams, and stakeholders
• Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple onsite locations
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced refresh environment with flexible hours

The Senior Palo Alto Networks Engineer will support a high demand, fast paced network security environment within a large scale network and telecom refresh program. This role is focused on enterprise and data center firewall initiatives, including major refresh and cutover efforts across multiple sites. The engineer will serve as a Tier 3 escalation point while also playing a critical role in large data center firewall refresh activities, migrations, and operational stability.

This position requires a local resource who can operate in a hybrid model and travel onsite as needed to support data center work. This role is fully dedicated, with deep integration into day to day operations, project delivery, and refresh execution. The engineer will support ongoing operational needs while driving significant firewall lifecycle initiatives in a dynamic environment.

• Provide Tier 3 support for Palo Alto Networks firewall operations and troubleshooting
• Support day to day firewall management and operational stability
• Participate in major incident response efforts, ranging from short engagements to multi day support
• Maintain high availability and resilience across data center firewall environment

• Lead and support large scale network and telecom refresh initiatives across enterprise data centers
• Execute firewall cutovers, migrations, upgrades, and hardware refresh activities
• Support deployments in primary data centers located in Fullerton, La Habra, and Irvine
• Travel onsite to additional North OC and IE sites as required
• Perform rulebase reviews, policy cleanup, optimization, and lifecycle management
• Support change windows where blocks of hours may be reserved in advance
• Coordinate with network, telecom, and infrastructure teams during refresh and cutover efforts

• Participate in a rotating on call schedule
• On call hours are scheduled in advance
• Flexible hours required to support refresh cutovers and after hours maintenance windows
• Some evening or weekend work may be required during major cutover events
