Director, Lead Data Scientist (Hybrid) – Prudential Financial

Overview

Prudential Financial is expanding its Marketing Analytics & Insights (MA&I) team to drive growth and AI‑driven decisions across media, sales, and marketing. As a Lead Data Scientist Director, you will blend strategic leadership with technical expertise to modernize segmentation, lead scoring, and audience generation, while mentoring a high‑performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the future‑state roadmap for technical design, optimization, and mentoring across the matrixed B2B2C organization.
  • Modernize lead generation processes across media, marketing, and sales, ensuring privacy and compliance.
  • Mentor the team in advanced analytics tools and advanced AI/ML methods, aligning with growth goals.
  • Build scalable, intelligent systems that embed AI‑assisted workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Develop, execute, and optimize 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data‑driven scoring systems to enhance CAC, LTV, NPS, and conversion rates.
  • Identify and define target audiences and market triggers in fields such as retirement strategies, wealth management, and insurance.
  • Implement tools for capturing, scoring, and managing lead opportunities across digital and traditional channels.
  • Conduct data mining to discover high‑value audience cohorts and refine segmentation accuracy.
  • Utilize AI/ML techniques—including clustering, classification, and recommendation systems—for continuous model iteration.
  • Define and maintain requirements for an AI‑powered lead scoring engine in the B2B2C space.
  • Collaborate across matrixed teams to refine models and improve targeting precision.
  • Influence business intelligence tool development, support transparency, reporting, and lead performance optimization.
  • Analyze trends to uncover new insights and improve lead quality and conversion rates.
  • Prioritize the lead audience experimentation portfolio and maintain feedback loops with advertising, marketing, sales, and field distribution teams.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in audience generation or growth marketing, with 3+ years in a leadership role within the B2B2C space.
  • Success scaling AI/ML‑powered segmentation, lead generation, and scoring frameworks.
  • Background in wealth management, asset management, or insurance, with deep understanding of customer journeys and compliance.
  • Ability to translate technical insights into actionable marketing strategies across multiple business lines.

Technical Skills

  • Expert proficiency in AI/ML frameworks for segmentation and predictive modeling; proven experience deploying, optimizing, and maintaining models on Sage Maker, Azure, and Databricks.
  • Advanced coding skills in SQL, Python, and R, capable of designing sophisticated algorithms for data analysis.
  • Extensive experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI, creating interactive dashboards and actionable reports.
  • In‑depth knowledge of AI‑based lead scoring solutions and signal intelligence platforms, e.g., 6

    Sense and Bombora.

Salary range: $158,800 – $238,200 per year (adjusted for location, experience, and skills).
