We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to play a key role in designing and supporting a next-generation Clinical Data Platform. This position will focus on architecting data models, building integration pipelines across multiple healthcare systems, and ensuring a scalable, governed data environment that supports clinical, payer, and pharmacy use cases.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in data integration and transformation, with deep familiarity in clinical data standards and interoperability frameworks. This role will work closely with ETL/Implementation Leads, Business System Analysts, and cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and design the Clinical Data Platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy and interoperability goals.
  • Develop and maintain data integration pipelines connecting EMR, payer, and pharmacy systems.
  • Define, document, and enforce data governance standards, metadata management, and data model best practices.
  • Collaborate with Implementation Leads and Business/System Analysts to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
  • Create detailed technical specifications, mappings, and documentation for development teams.
  • Partner with delivery teams and vendors to ensure adherence to architecture and data quality standards throughout the SDLC.
  • Support data migration, profiling, and validation activities for clinical data sources.
  • Participate in weekly project reviews to ensure milestones and deliverables are met.
Core Focus Areas
  • Data Integration & Transformation: ETL/ELT design, data ingestion from multiple healthcare systems, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Clinical & Patient Data Models:
Designing schema for EHR/EMR, claims, and clinical exchange data.
  • Interoperability Architecture:
Understanding and application of healthcare data standards such as FHIR, CCD, HL7, and ADT.
  • Payer & PBM Integration:
Familiarity with payer-side and pharmacy benefit data exchanges.
Technical Environment
  • Cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, or AWS data services).
  • Strong background in SQL, ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend), and data modeling frameworks.
  • Experience with enterprise data warehouses and data lake architectures.
  • Emphasis on hands‑on technical execution and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data design.
  • Proven success designing or implementing healthcare data solutions involving clinical, payer, and/or interoperability data.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, data lineage, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex data concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working alongside consulting or delivery teams in a matrixed or vendor‑partnered environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Experience
  • Background with healthcare data integration (FHIR, HL7, CCD, ADT, EDI 837/835, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Informatica, and Teradata ecosystems.
  • Prior experience in data platform modernization or enterprise data strategy initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in structured weekly sprints with defined deliverables.
