Position: Director of Research Development - Open Rank - NTT

Overview

Director of Research Development – Open Rank – NTT. Rutgers School of Nursing leadership role guiding translational research opportunities across academic practice partnerships, working with NJ ACTS as a bridge to Rutgers Health. Represents the SON on committees related to translational research initiatives, interdisciplinary collaborations, and advancement of academic‑practice partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Identify areas of collaboration with NJ ACTS and academic practice partners for advancing translational research activities and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the main point of communication to facilitate collaboration between the RSON Office of Research and faculty to establish translational research foci.
  • Build partnerships between the RSON, Rutgers Health, and academic practice partners to advance nursing programs of translational research.
  • Develop and evaluate nursing workforce development programs in translational science that are scalable and sustainable across Rutgers Health and practice partners.
  • Explore feasibility of academic programs related to preparing the nursing workforce for translational research roles and collaborate across RSON to enact approved programs.
  • Facilitate clinical and translational research programs with faculty, clinical research staff, and practice partners using a translational workforce development teams science approach, following federal, state, and institutional guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • PhD in Nursing
  • History of research and scholarship in clinical settings
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative programs
  • Commitment to equitable research and scholarship across professions
  • Experience launching programs within a Clinical and Translational Science infrastructure

Certifications/Licenses

  • Current licensure or eligibility for RN licensure in New Jersey

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience developing training programs, particularly in health information technology used in the research enterprise
