About Brothers Building A Better Nation (BBABN)

Brothers Building A Better Nation (BBABN) is a Newark-based nonprofit organization providing trauma-informed, community-centered behavioral health services to children, youth, and families through New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care (CSOC). BBABN delivers Intensive In-Community (IIC) Therapy and Behavioral Assistance with a focus on healing-centered engagement, family-driven care, and community stability.

BBABN serves only youth and families located in Essex County, New Jersey.

Position Summary

The Intensive In-Community (IIC) Clinician – Master’s Level provides home- and community-based therapeutic services to children and adolescents authorized through Perform Care under New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care. This position works under the supervision of a licensed clinician and is ideal for early-career professionals seeking hands‑on experience in community-based care while working toward independent licensure.

This role requires strong engagement skills, comfort working in family homes and community settings, and a commitment to timely, accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Service Delivery (Under Supervision)
  • Provide face‑to‑face Intensive In-Community therapy in youth homes and approved community settings throughout Essex County
  • Implement treatment interventions aligned with the youth’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and supervisory guidance
  • Support youth stabilization, emotional regulation, coping skills, and family communication
  • Maintain professional boundaries and safety awareness in community‑based environments
Assessment & Clinical Support
  • Assist with information gathering for assessments as directed by the supervising clinician
  • Support treatment planning and goal tracking
  • Participate in Child & Family Team (CFT) meetings with supervisory support
Care Coordination & Collaboration
  • Communicate with families, CMOs, MRSS, and schools as directed
  • Support continuity of care through consistent follow‑up and collaboration
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete all progress notes within 24 hours of each session
  • Accurately complete encounters and link services to active authorizations in athenaOne
  • Ensure documentation meets CSOC, Medicaid, HIPAA, and BBABN standards
  • Adhere to all mandated reporting and ethical requirements
Supervision & Professional Development
  • Participate in required clinical supervision
  • Accept feedback and coaching to improve clinical and documentation skills
  • Engage in ongoing training related to CSOC, trauma‑informed care, and best practices
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active New Jersey associate‑level license: LSW, LAC, Psychology graduates working toward licensure under supervision (as permitted by NJ regulations)
  • Eligibility to work toward independent licensure in New Jersey
  • Active, clean driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel throughout Essex County only
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or prior experience in community-based or in‑home services
  • Interest in child, adolescent, and family mental health
  • Familiarity with CSOC, Perform Care, or systems-based care
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills
Compensation & Contractor Status

$50–$60 per hour, depending on experience

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, benefits, and insurance. Flexible scheduling based on client needs and authorizations.

Work Environment & Schedule

Community-based work within Essex County. Sessions primarily occur after school hours and early evenings. Documentation completed remotely.
