Advanced MRI Technologist Contract Opportunity in Newark, NJ. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment utilizing your expertise in MRI imaging. As a technologist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality diagnostic images essential for patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Position patients accurately on the examination table and place coils (e.g., head or knee coil) near the targeted anatomical area following radiologist protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients using a microphone system during MRI examinations.
- Input patient history, scanned body area, scan orientation, and entry position into the MRI systems computer.
- Operate MRI equipment by using key commands to select scan sequences and adjust transmitter/receiver settings.
- Continuously monitor patients through control room windows and closed-circuit TV to ensure safety and comfort.
- Review displayed images to verify quality before finalizing scans.
- Enter image data for documentation purposes.
- Enforce safety protocols by warning staff about metal hazards near the magnetic field.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support smooth operation of the imaging department.
- Proven technical skills and knowledge in MRI imaging procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed imaging protocols with accuracy.
- Strong communication skills to guide patients through scanning processes.
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety in a high-tech MRI environment.
- Familiarity with digital imaging systems and data entry.
