The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected will depend on factors such as educational background, skills and professional experience.

The Pharmacy Specialist assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical and manipulative tasks involved in storage and control, dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups including geriatrics, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal.

• Graduate of an accredited training program or two years’ experience
• Registered by the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy

• Delivers drug orders and carts as prioritized by the pharmacist promptly
• Delivers controlled substances to patient care areas, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed
• Fills Pyxis fill list for electronic dispensing machines, delivering and placing medications into the machines according to procedure
• Demonstrates competency in aseptic technique and performs cleaning and compliance of documentation for sterile compounding with departmental policy
• Documents patient care activities in the form of interventions appropriately, according to the organization’s policies and procedures
• Follows all procedures involved in the appropriate documentation of all documentation errors and meets the required minimum documentation per employment status
• Inspects floor stock storage locations for expired medications
• Removes and replaces outdated pharmacy products
