Required:
U.S. Citizenship Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through working experience and educational achievement Hands-on experience with equipment assembly, maintenance, repair, or technical support in military, industrial, or educational settings Capability in reading, interpreting, and determining the technical validity of engineering drawings and technical documentation Demonstrated reliability and professionalism through experience in military, industry, or technical educational training Excellent attention to detail with capability for self-correction and quality assurance of own work Knowledge of mechanical items and systems, metal shop repair practices including machining, welding, painting, and proof testing Experience/familiarity with use of computers and standard Microsoft Office software products Ability to follow direction and coaching on the use of word processing and graphics software and follow technical document templates and desk guides to produce technical documents in accordance with established procedures Computer skills to do technical research and logistics support through the internet Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with Navy or DoD weapon systems, equipment, or programs Support weapons programs through development, review, and finalization of engineering and logistics support documentation (including engineering drawings, databases, engineering change proposals, technical specifications, maintenance plans, test plans, test reports, etc.) and other project management related tasks. Plan, develop, coordinate, and integrate logistics support for assigned equipment throughout the equipment's life cycle.
Develop, maintain, and manage technical specifications, maintenance plans, provisioning data, repair/maintenance manuals, other maintenance products (such and Navy MIPs/MRCs), special packaging instructions (SPIs), and operating procedures. Plan and coordinate individual assignments to meet project goals. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with engineering professionals, technicians, contractors, and fleet. Write technical documentation including maintenance, repair, packaging, and use instructions in accordance with Navy policy and the rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
With time and experience in the job, develop the ability to represent the organization as a Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHST) equipment expert.
