Civil Engineer – Entry Level

Department Manager – Civil

• Strong verbal and written skills are required. Is a proactive self‑starter.
• Provides technical support.
• Works well with others in a group setting.
• Capable of developing solutions to problems.
• Excellent written skills.

• Site/civil design including grading, roadway, storm water management, green infrastructure, water and sewer mains, signing, and erosion and sediment control design.
• Preparation of associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
• Plan preparation using AutoCAD.
• Field work includes investigations, data collection, sign and roadway infrastructure inventory collection, and observation of soil borings.
• Familiar with all company policies and procedures and verifies implementation and compliance.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Previous internship experience is desired.
• EIT is desired but not required.
• Experience with AutoCAD is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Familiarity with agency standards and protocols including: NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, and NJTA is a plus.

• Active participation in professional societies, industry organizations, and local civic organizations.
• Encourages professional training and licensing (self).
