VHB’s Site Investigation & Remediation team is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our New York City office. Responsibilities- Develop and manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs
- Provide hands‑on support during field exploration and testing
- Interpret and communicate investigation findings
- Leverage technology to support data management and visualization
- Participate in environmental due diligence activities
- Write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda
- Ability to work in office and field settings (this position requires traveling within New York City, New York State, and nearby states).
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Self‑motivated with abilities to problem‑solve and work independently
- Documents work in a detailed manner and keeps data and other information organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, experience with AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS Pro and EQuIS or other laboratory data management software a plus
- BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 0-1 year of professional environmental/remediation consulting experience required
- OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $70,000–$72,000 for candidates located in New York, NY and $67,000–$69,000 for candidates located in New Jersey. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including individual qualifications, education, and experience.
