Title: Adjunct Instructor- MIE

Position SummaryThe Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering has an ongoing need for Adjunct Professors to teach a variety courses in Mechanical Engineering. Typical courses include Kinematics, System Dynamics, Stress Analysis, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, Heat Transfer, Mechanical Systems Design and laboratory courses.
Essential FunctionsDevelop and deliver lectures, prepare and grade assignments, design laboratory experiments (if needed), and examination of student learning. Learn and use online course management system - Moodle. Submit grades to the registrar at the end of the semester.
Prerequisite QualificationsM.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields;
At the university s discretion the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience in Mechanical Engineering specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Industrial experience is an added advantage. Ph.D. preferred with previous college teaching experience.

Salary InformationIn compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per contact hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
