Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join the Newark Airport Air Train Project. The Assistant Project Manager will be working alongside the PANYNJ and responsible for overseeing design and ensuring guidelines are met.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Management, review, and oversight of the design for the Newark Air Train guideway structure for the on-airport or off-airport portion (areas inclusive of the NJ DOT and by the North East Corridor) to ensure compliance with the Contract Documents.
• Working directly with the Program Integration team to ensure the Guideway design and construction is in accordance with the interface requirements provided by the System Technology.
• Develop an understanding of the contractual (technical/commercial) requirements of the design-build contract and be able to review various submittals in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Working with the Lead Guideway Project Manager, project managers, Port Authority, and other Guideway & Stations Subject Matter Expert (SME) staff to review, coordinate, and oversee the design work.
• Support the PANYNJ's Construction Management Division (CMD) to support the construction phase ensuring interfaces and contract requirements are understood and implemented.
• Support the Project Team in testing and commissioning of the guideway structure and other fixed facilities in order to achieve first passenger service for the new Air Train system.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural preferred) or Construction Management.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design-build contracts in design, construction, or implementation.
• Experience with the design and construction of rail or roadway bridge structures.

Salary: $100,000-$160,000
