• Investigate the origin and cause of failures in civil/structural fields across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Analyze building system failures, evaluate construction quality, and review design or maintenance procedures.
• Participate in catastrophe responses (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildfires, earthquakes).
• Perform field investigations, lead multi‑party examinations, and document damaged property.
• Research failure modes, code requirements, and prepare recommendations for repair or remediation.
• Prepare accurate, clear, thorough reports and letters outlining causes and origins of damage; follow policies and exercise sound judgment.
• Provide expert testimony in court of law if required.
• Manage or work with multidisciplinary teams on large, complex assignments.
• Establish trusted relationships with clients and engage socially at mixed engagements.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline (required).
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred in the state of employment.
• 5–7+ years of design experience in residential, commercial, and industrial settings (preferred).
• Experience with commercial and industrial facilities desired.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
• Technical expertise in Microsoft Suite and CRM.
• 25–30%+ travel.
• Safe operation of a motor vehicle in a work capacity.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
• Ability to work at heights such as roofs or scaffolding (physical agility, balance, resistance to acrophobia).

The pay range for this position in New York is $125,000 to $150,000 annually; base pay may vary based on experience. A sign‑on bonus may be provided. This information is provided per the New York Equal Pay Act.
