VCS Storage Engineer

Senior VCS Engineer – Onsite (Iselin, NJ / New York City)

Location: Onsite in Iselin NJ or New York City NYC

Duration: 6+ Months (Long Term Contract or CTH)

Employment Type: Contract (Preferred to work on W2 or 1099)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior VCS Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. This role will focus on the deployment and support of our enterprise‑wide Virtualization, Compute and Storage environment.

• Virtualization Management: Deploy and maintain VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Horizon VDI environments. Tasks include provisioning, performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Compute Infrastructure: Administer server hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco, Nutanix, IBM), including new deployments, firmware upgrades and break/fix.
• Storage Administration: Operate and manage SAN/NAS systems (Net App ONTAP, Snap Mirror, Dell VxRail, Nutanix, HPE Alletra, IBM Flash System, Pure), perform backups (Rubrik, IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM), Commvault), and ensure data integrity and recovery.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain secure environments and manage access controls.

  Create and maintain technical documentation, collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor system performance and implement tuning improvements.

• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure focused on VCS technologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging and remote support tools such as Aria, Ops Ramp, Lakeside, Splunk.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

• Experience with scripting languages & automation (Power Shell, Ansible, Python).
• Background in financial services or regulated environments.
