Summary:

The Department of Oral Biology is searching for a Molecular Biologist to fill two (2) faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor – tenure track or with tenure. The Department is an integral member of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and has access to highly qualified PhD students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and supervise scientific projects and research initiatives designed to place the department in a position of national prominence.
• Collaborate in discoveries that enhance the understanding of bacterial pathogenesis and/or host susceptibility to oral disease.
• Develop and maintain an innovative, internationally competitive research program supported by external funding.
• Participate in training PhD students and contribute to the Department’s graduate and undergraduate research and teaching programs.

Qualifications – Minimum

Education and Experience:

• PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
• A track record of funding from NIH, NSF, or comparable institutes.
• Experience in molecular biology related to genetics and/or genomics of oral microbes or host susceptibility agents.
• Publications in Oral Biology or related area preferred.
• Record of student training.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with genomics and host microbe interactions.
• Record of teaching and training.

Salary:
Minimum $114,622 annual salary. Final salary offer may be determined by qualifications, experience, expertise, and availability of department or grant funds. Competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent.
