Overview

This newly developed role reports to the Executive Vice Dean and provides services across the medical education continuum, including faculty affairs. The Assistant/Associate Dean for Program Evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) will oversee program development, data collection, and analysis to support continuous improvements in medical education programs, faculty and resident development programs, and to promote the scholarship of education across the New Jersey Medical School.

The successful candidate will be appointed at a faculty rank commensurate with experience and consistent with RBHS guidelines for appointments and promotions.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of evaluating the medical education program, including planning, data collection, compilation/analysis, and interpretation, as well as preparation and dissemination of evaluation reports.
  • Lead efforts to optimize survey and assessment systems for evaluating individual curricular elements and overall educational programs to facilitate continuous quality improvement and monitor the impact of curricular changes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a comprehensive learner assessment system that evaluates learner outcomes throughout the MD‑degree curriculum.
  • Direct the continuous monitoring process for compliance with all twelve LCME accreditation standards and serve as a core member of the LCME preparation team.
  • Develop and implement plans addressing any identified non‑compliance with LCME standards.
  • Serve on the professional development team, promoting and expanding medical education scholarship; apply for and manage grants, present work nationally, and publish scholarship.
  • Actively participate in curriculum, student affairs, admissions, and faculty meetings as requested.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education or a related field with a focus on educational or psychological measurement (MD candidates with relevant experience also considered).
  • Previous experience in evaluation, preferably within academic or medical institutions.
  • Ability to qualify for the associate dean rank based on relevant experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Expertise in statistical and computer applications for educational assessment.
  • Knowledge of organizational behavior related to medical education components.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Demonstrated scholarship and/or grant support experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing; no special vision requirements; lifting up to 20 lb.
