Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Physician Specialist for the department of Neurology at the New Jersey Medical School. The primary purpose of the Physician Specialist position is to provide specialized clinical care and consultations for patients in the Department. In this position, the per diem Physician Specialist
- Pediatric Neurologist will manage and consult patients seeking referrals to Pediatric Neurology with close collaboration with consultants and subspecialists who practice at NBIMC and UHNJ. Through the well-established, multidisciplinary team the overall goal is to have close collaboration with affiliated specialty networks.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Evaluates and manages patients with complex medical problems.
  • Provides direct clinical care to patients.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates plans of treatment.
  • Consults with other attending physicians regarding patient care.
  • May supervise medical personnel.
  • Collaborates with nursing staff, social workers, case managers and other healthcare professionals.
