Qualifications And Requirements
  • An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) as deemed necessary by https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)./
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), unless otherwise specified by the New Jersey Department of Education.
  • Experience with live event production and emerging technologies for social media live streaming.
Basic Functions And Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging curriculum and lesson plans for Audio and Visual Broadcast Technology.
  • Teach students audio and video production techniques, including camera operation, sound design, editing, and live broadcasting.
  • Operate and maintain broadcast equipment, including cameras, microphones, and editing software.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media professionals and organizations to provide students with industry insights and opportunities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, incorporating innovative techniques and software into the curriculum.
  • Mentor and supervise students in school productions and special events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate broadcast technology and content into other subjects, such as journalism, marketing, and digital media.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Salary, Employment Period, and Union Affiliation
  • Salary: $70,000 - $110,000
  • Employment Period:
    Ten (10) Months
  • Union Affiliation:
    Newark Teachers Union (NTU)
