POSITION DESCRIPTION

Construction Project Manager


Department:
Office of Property Management

Reports To:

Executive Director of Property Management

Classification:
Exempt

General Description

Researches, plans designs and manages building and related projects for the Archdiocese. Assists Real Estate Manager in building sale and lease transactions.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

The following specific responsibilities are representative of the duties required in this position. They may be unilaterally but reasonably changed based on the working environment and departmental needs.
  • Calculates cost and determines feasibility of projects.
  • Represents owner in obtaining and coordinating bids and awarding construction projects.
  • Administers construction contracts and conducts regular periodic on-site observation and coordination of work during construction to monitor progress.
  • Performs short- and long-term evaluations of facility needs.
  • Prioritizes project scheduling. Negotiates change orders
  • Coordinates active workload of approximately 35 or more projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a project team with commitment to customer service.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with facility construction and restoration necessary.
  • Must possess or obtain valid New Jersey asbestos building inspector license.
  • Must have valid NJ Driver's License and clean driving record.
Education and/or Experience (Preferred)
  • College degree in engineering/architecture preferred.
