Talascend is currently seeking a hybrid

Business Analyst for a W-2 contract opportunity with our client in Newark , New Jersey.

Overview

As a Business Analyst in the Energy & Utilities industry, you will act as a critical link between business needs and technological solutions, ensuring the successful implementation of impactful projects in the Energy & Utilities domain.

Hybrid Shift

Candidates must be local and able to go into the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements using interviews, workshops, and user stories.
• Analyze and map business processes to identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to design technology solutions aligned with business goals.
• Work with cross functional teams on time sensitive Energy data analysis that help summarize the business’s goals, initiatives, customer performance, etc.
• Ensure solution alignment with different stakeholders.
• Contribute to project success by participating in testing and validation activities.
• Write clear and well-structured business requirements and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics or a related field.
• 4+ years proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in the Energy & Utilities industry.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to turn complex raw data into a useful summary.
• Experience with Data Analytics, SQL, MS Access, Power
  
  BI.
• Proficiency with business analysis techniques and tools such as UML or BPMN.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Knowledge of Energy & Utilities IT Systems, Clean Energy and Energy efficiency programs.
