Provides administrative assistance / secretarial support to the department, including the Chairman of the Department of Cardiac Surgery.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of two years prior Medical experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook and other comparable programs with typing/word processing skills at a minimum of 50 words per minute
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare and knowledge of medical terminology
- EPIC experience
- Shift: 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday
- Full Time/ Day
- Attend meetings as required; prepare agendas, meeting notices, minutes, distributions, etc. as necessary
- Maintain a filing system and follow-up mechanism that provides for effective department operation through expeditious retrieval of information, continuous information flow, response and action in a timely manner
- Manage calendars including coordination of arrangements for internal and external meetings
- Assure that necessary information and arrangements are available in advance of the scheduled event
- Open incoming mail, screen for priority items and facilitate timely referral of issues to appropriate parties as instructed
- Operate the computer and utilize word processing skills to prepare correspondence, memorandums, reports and presentations in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in overall telephone and secretarial coverage on behalf of the entire Nursing Administration department in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain complete and accurate telephone/visitor messages for department personnel, ensuring timely and accurate routing of messages
- Provide administrative assistance in a responsible, tactful and confidential manner
- Provide routine maintenance of general office equipment and facilitate repair calls as necessary
- Serve as Administrative Assistant to the Chairman and AVP of the Northern Department of Cardiac Surgery
- Be able to work with minimal supervision and can function independently
