Christiana Care is looking for a full-time CDL Truck Driver to drive a box truck transporting hospital supplies and equipment between the distribution center, CCHS sites, and/or assigned locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drives in accordance with police and safety regulations.

Loads, unloads, and transports all hospital supplies and equipment between the distribution center and hospitals

Maintains clean and organized vehicles

Works rotating/flex shifts to include nights/weekends/holidays in all-weather types

Turns in a daily vehicle inspections report and driver log

Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

Performs other related duties as required.

Hours:

Rotating shifts - varied start times

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent

(2) years of Materials Distribution transportation

Experience in material handling equipment

Valid State of Delaware Driver's License Class "B" (CDL) and safe driving record.

Physical demands:

Incumbent must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be able to pull approx. 2,000 lbs.

Position requires substantial amounts of standing, sitting, bending and stooping.

Requires pushing and pulling of heavy material carts/totes/pallets daily in transporting them to specified locations.

Working conditions:

Exposure to hazardous chemicals, chemical odors, and loud noises. Possible exposure to sharp instruments and infectious diseases. Adverse weather and road conditions.

This position has a starting rate of $20.23 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $23.79 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $24.98.This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.

The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
