Position Objective

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer‑ and product‑focused sales culture. Responsibilities include managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure great customer experience and maximum profitability. Functional Responsibilities Performance Culture
  • Analyze sales reports and KPIs to determine business needs; jointly develop and execute in‑store business and sales strategies.
  • Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding store team and self accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  • Control payroll and supply budget.
  • Oversee basic operational activities such as scheduling, shrink audits, inventory, opening/closing duties, time‑sheet review, payroll accuracy, and merchandise flow.
  • Perform all financial activities, including cash handling, reporting, price changes, and merchandise handling; assure register transactions comply with policy.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, loss prevention policies, operating procedures, and controls; conduct associate training to reinforce proper controls.
  • Administer all operational processes including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment, and physical inventories.
  • Maintain visual presentation, organization, and facility standards representative of the brand.
  • Develop a high‑performance culture and motivate the sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
  • Train and coach sales team in product knowledge both online and in store.
  • Assist with order fulfillment and selling.
Building High Performing Teams
  • Motivate and inspire the store team, developing a shared vision while modeling core values.
  • Promote an inclusive, collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Communicate with store teams and Store Manager to lead positive change.
  • Seek personal development opportunities and solicit feedback to build leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  • Model, teach, and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles and standards, offering a cohesive omni‑channel experience.
  • Model sales expectations by utilizing techniques and communicating product knowledge; recommend merchandise selections or help locate/obtain items based on customer needs.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
  • Maintain a fast and efficient register experience, staying current on payment, coupon, return, and security policies.
  • Encourage consistent client communication through customer books, rewards programs, and capture sign‑ups.
Talent
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high‑performing team.
  • Support, implement, and follow up on training programs and seminars.
  • Assess and coach store team on performance.
  • Resolve human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Drive employee engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
  • Ensure adherence to all employment practices and policies.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of retail management experience (preferred).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to company technology.
  • Proven customer service excellence with a track record of sales and leadership success.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
