Registered Nurse (RN) – 6B Medical Unit

Day Shift (

Hours:

7a-7p) Weeks & Holidays per department guidelines.

Unit

6B is a 40‑bed medical inpatient unit that provides acute medical care on a 24‑hour basis. It accommodates 40 patients who need acute and/or chronic medical services. The scope of services includes pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and altered mental status, among others. The patient population includes adults 18 years of age and up, with conditions ranging from good to fair.

Patients are received, transferred, or admitted from the emergency department, ICU, step‑down, home, and doctors’ offices.

Education & Experience
  • RN license in Delaware or a Compact State.
  • BSN preferred or commitment to acquiring a BSN within 3 years of hire.
  • At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN.
  • BLS required.
Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, bend, and climb as per the practice‑area‑based Physical Demands Checklist.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to biological elements with occasional exposure to chemical and environmental elements, as per the practice‑area‑based Physical Demands Checklist.

Hourly Pay Range

$41.28 – $66.05

This pay range represents Christiana Care’s good‑faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at posting time. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
