Registered Nurse – Emergency Department Fellowship
Christiana Care is now hiring an Emergency Department Fellowship Track for experienced RNs. This paid fellowship track is designed to prepare RNs with 1+ year of Medical/Surgical or Step Down experience for a successful transition into the Emergency Department (ED). The track includes didactic training, hands‑on clinical training, and a comprehensive orientation to prepare fellows to function independently in all areas of the ED.
Aboutthe Fellowship
This fellowship is a paid track that prepares RNs with 1 year or more of Med/Surg or Step Down experience for a successful transition into the ED. It is open only to experienced RNs; new graduates will not be considered.
Didactic Training- Classroom sessions led by experienced ED educators and Emergency Department orientation modules from ENA via Learning Space
- Curriculum covering:
- Emergency nursing principles and best practices
- Management of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric emergencies
- Advanced life support protocols (ACLS, PALS, TNCC)
- Crisis resource management and team communication
- Documentation standards in emergency care
- Competency assessments to ensure clinical readiness
- Rotations through high‑acuity ED zones including trauma bays, fast‑track, and critical care pods
- Simulation‑based training for emergency scenarios, rapid response, and triage decision‑making
- IV insertion, airway management, trauma & wound care, and emergency medication administration
- Direct mentorship and preceptorship from seasoned ED nurses
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other emergency care professionals
- Includes weekends and holidays, responsibilities per department guidelines

- BSN preferred (or commitment to obtain within 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg or Stepdown units
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and self‑motivation
- Flexibility to manage a high volume of patients in a Level I Trauma Center
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Will obtain during orientation
- PALS – Will obtain during orientation
- TNCC – Will obtain during orientation or within 6 months following orientation.
$41.28/hr – $66.05/hr this range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
