Position Summary
Pediatric and Adolescent Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health – Full‑time, 12‑hour shifts (7:00 am–7:30 pm or 7:00 pm–7:30 am). Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 and a required two‑week orientation (Mon‑Fri 8:30 am–5:00 pm).
Rockford Center is a 138‑bed mental health facility in Newark, DE, offering inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized nursing care to children and adolescents (ages 5–17) as prescribed by physicians and under facility nursing leadership.
- Administer PRN medications, assess effectiveness, and document rationale in the medical record.
- Report changes in patient physical or mental status and episodes of seclusion or restraint to the nurse manager or supervisor each shift.
- Ensure family and physician notification is completed and documented when a patient is transported to the emergency room, injured, falls, or is placed in seclusion or restraints.
- Collaborate with team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Perform treatments and therapies as ordered by physicians in a timely manner.
- Document patient care findings and psychosocial responses to interventions.
- Initiate emergency measures according to age‑appropriate CPR and resuscitation protocols.
- Participate in emergency crisis interventions using age‑appropriate techniques.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Provide patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner that respects cultural diversity and preserves autonomy, rights, and dignity.
- Current license to practice nursing in DE (or eligible to receive or renew).
- Current CPR certification.
