Position Summary

Nephrology Associates in Newark DE office is looking for an RN who has at least 2 continual years of experience in a critical care setting and/or Interventional lab.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Activities
  • Perform pre-procedure evaluation
  • Intraprocedural monitoring and post procedural recovery
  • Administration of pain and sedation medication
  • Work as part of the Interventional team to ensure safe and efficient patient care
Telephone Responsibilities
  • Call patients to confirm appointments, make follow-up calls and answer questions.
  • Consult physician as required and communicate physician instructions to patient.
  • Obtains verbal consents over the phone from patients with POA
EHR
  • Review EHR clinical charts including lab values, studies ordered and hospitalizations, notify physician if needed.
  • Accurately and consistently enter information into patient charts according to our center’s policies.
  • Collect patient records from external EHR systems.
Other
  • Coordinate scheduling with office staff and providers.
  • Assist patients and physicians as needed
  • Provide patient education; review discharge instructions with patients.
  • Advocate for patients in regard to understanding discharge instructions, medication changes or studies requested by the physician.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment
  • Provide back-up to scheduling department as needed.
Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Flexibility to alter hours to meet the needs of the schedule required.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • A graduate of a state approved or National League of Nursing accredited School of Nursing
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Current ACLS Certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Occasional travel to our office in Milford to meet the needs of the practice.
  • Work consistent with HIPPA and OSHA regulation.
  • General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
  • Excellent patient care skills.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations, providing compassionate care to patients, their families, and colleagues.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene practices are required.
  • Must be able to perform CPR.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May require extended periods of walking and standing.
  • Must be able to support up to 75 pounds to reposition, transfer, and ambulate patients safely.
  • Requires the ability to push wheelchair-bound patients.
  • Able to carry up to 45lbs frequently, and 50lbs occasionally.
  • Able to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
  • High level of manual dexterity and visual acuity is required.
  • Adequate hearing is required for communication, cues indicating patient status, and medical equipment alarms.
