Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) Program

📍 Newark, DE Office (Statewide Role)

Impact Life is a nonprofit dedicated to whole‑person, trauma‑informed care. We work alongside individuals, families, and communities across Delaware to promote recovery, resilience, and wellbeing. Our Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) program offers community‑based wellness and mindfulness activities designed to support participants ages 12 and up.

We are hiring a Peer Mindfulness Activities Coordinator to support, coordinate, and lead engaging mindfulness‑based activities across the state. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply connected to their own mindfulness practice, brings lived experience in recovery, and enjoys working directly with people in group and community settings. This is a full‑time statewide position based out of Impact Life's Newark, Delaware office, with regular travel throughout Delaware.

What

You’ll Do
  • Lead mindfulness‑based activities and group sessions (meditation, breathing practices, journaling, mindful movement, art, etc.)
  • Create safe, engaging environments that promote connection, self‑exploration, and wellbeing
  • Build rapport with participants and guide mindfulness practice with compassion and relatability
  • Support BCOR program activities statewide, including evenings and weekends
  • Travel throughout Delaware to support community programming and partnerships
  • Collect participant feedback to help improve future programming
  • Collaborate with BCOR team members and community partners
  • Maintain basic documentation and attendance records
Requirements Who You Are Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess or meet eligibility requirements to become a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in Delaware
  • Demonstrated lived experience with recovery and ability to share appropriately
  • A personal mindfulness practice
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to facilitate group activities
  • Comfortable with state‑wide travel, including nights and weekends
  • Reliable transportation
Preferred
  • Training or experience in peer support, facilitation, or community outreach
  • Experience working with youth, adults, or recovery populations
  • Background in wellness, education, or community programming
Schedule & Travel
  • Full‑time, statewide role based out of Newark, DE
  • Regular travel throughout Delaware required
  • Nights and weekends required to support program activities and events
