Job OverviewA&H Metals Inc. is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our fabrication shop in Newark, DE. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment producing small‑run and one‑off precision components.
You will operate knee mills and engine lathes—primarily Southwestern Industries equipment with Proto
TRAK M2 controls—to machine high‑precision parts in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys. Many projects involve reverse engineering broken or obsolete parts from blueprints, sketches, field measurements, or damaged samples.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain manual machining equipment including knee mills and engine lathes.
Utilize Proto
TRAK M2 controls (Southwestern Industries mills and lathes experience preferred).
Machine precise components from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys.
Reverse engineer parts from blueprints, sketches, samples, or damaged components.
Perform prototype and R&D machining projects as required.
Take accurate measurements using precision tools and verify tolerances.
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for optimal results.
Monitor and adjust machining processes in real‑time to ensure quality and accuracy.
Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
Support additional fabrication shop needs as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Support overtime and production schedules as needed.
QualificationsMinimum 5 years of manual machining experience required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience machining steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience with reverse engineering and prototype machining strongly preferred.
Knowledge of steels, alloys, and NDE processes preferred.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for 8‑hour shifts.
Team‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
