Senior Automation Engineer; API Testing Specialist

10 is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (API Testing Specialist) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Newark, DE. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a highly technical Automation Engineer with a specialized focus on API and Middleware testing. In this role, you will be the quality gatekeeper for a microservices architecture. You will architect robust automation suites that validate the data integrity, security, and performance of REST and SOAP web services.

• Design, develop, and execute API test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure high-quality product delivery
• Create and maintain automation test frameworks for REST and SOAP based API's using SOA test, postman or SOAP UI
• Develop reusable test automation components and utilities using Java
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and QA teams to identify, isolate and resolve defects
• Conduct Regression and Integration End to end testing for backend services and API
• Document and track defects, test results and automation metrics
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools

• Hands-on experience in API testing and automation
• Deep understanding of RESTful and SOAP-based web services
• Strong experience with SOAP UI, SOA Test, or Postman
• Familiarity with test management and defect management tools like JIRA, Octane
• Experience with CI//CD tools eg:
  Jenkins
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Pay range: $49.86 - $57.86 per hour
